Two APS Students Earn Top Honors at Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair

Regeneron Science FairRegeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and the Society for Science announced winners for the 2024 International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) featuring nearly 1,700 young scientists representing 49 states and 67 countries across the world.

Wakefield senior Olivia Bartrum and Washington-Liberty junior Anna Mohanty were named finalists at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, which was held May 11-17 in Los Angeles, CA.

Bartrum¡¯s project Harnessing the Signalosome to Enhance Ex-Vivo Generation of Tumor Antigen-Specific T Cells competed in the category of Cellular and Molecular Biology.

She received the following award:

  • Second Place in Cellular and Molecular Biology and $2,000 award

Mohanty¡¯s project, Alcott: A Convolutional Neural Network to Predict Multimeric Interactions in HIV-1 Neural Infection competed in the category of Translational Medical Science.

She received the following awards:

  • Third Place in Translational Medical Science and $1,000 award
  • Third Place from the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence and $500 award and AAAI Student Membership
